Agricultural Loans Fund

Relaunched in 2024 with a £10 million investment fund to help agricultural businesses improve productivity. Applicants may borrow up to £1 million per farm (covering up to 90% of project cost) for terms of up to 30 years, at 3% interest p.a. Loans above £150,000 require security. Open to Jersey-based agricultural enterprises, including new entrants, that are participating in or eligible for the RSS.

Better Business Support Package

The Better Business Grant is the £5.3m fund allocated to Jersey Business in 2025 and again in 2026 to help employers in all business sectors in Jersey enhance productivity, invest in employee training, and develop new opportunities in the visitor economy sector.

Ecology Trust

Established following the Amoco Cadiz oil spill settlement in 1991, this Trust funds local environmental and biodiversity projects through its investment income. Grants generally range from £200 to £5,000, with quarterly deadlines (January, April, July, November). Applications should outline objectives, site details, and budgets, and be sent to ecologytrustfund@gov.je.

Howard Davis Farm Trust

Funded through income from leased farmland, the Trust supports training, research and projects in agriculture, horticulture and environmental protection across Jersey. Since 2009, it has funded over 150 initiatives, including conservation work, dairy training, woodland management and student research. Grants typically range from £500 to £20,000. Applications (with objectives, costs and outcomes) should be submitted to the secretariat via secretary@hdft.je.

Jersey Community Fund

JCF manages multiple thematic funds supporting community, environmental, and research initiatives. Typical awards are up to £50,000 per year for registered charities and non-profit groups. Relevant funds include the Environmental, Science, Heritage and Social Mobility Funds, which may support biodiversity, education or food-security projects. Private individuals and commercial ventures are ineligible unless delivering clear community benefit.

Jersey Funders Group

A collaborative network bringing together Jersey’s main charitable funders (including the Ana Leaf Foundation, Jersey Community Foundation and Philip Gower Fund). The Group itself does not award grants but directs applicants to the most relevant partner funder. Eligible projects include those promoting community food production, farming education, sustainability or wellbeing. Submit a single Funding Enquiry Form to be matched with an appropriate charity.

King's Fund for Agriculture

Established to mark King Charles III’s Coronation, this bursary scheme supports Jersey residents studying agriculture or horticulture, from short courses to degree programmes. Awards can cover up to 100% of tuition and living costs, encouraging entrants into the sector and supporting local food security. Applications are managed through the HM Receiver General’s Office.

Rural Support Scheme (RSS)

Opened 1 January 2026 for activities undertaken in 2025. Applications close 15 September 2026. The RSS supports bona fide farms and smallholders through four payment tiers: Tier 1: Quality accreditation and farm management planning. Tier 2: Payments linked to livestock numbers and land use. Tier 3: Support for economic, environmental and social performance (training, local produce, etc.). Tier 4: Project grants delivered for capital investments.
